How to Convert Multiple AVIF Images to BMP?

AVIF to BMP: what to expect from the conversion
AVIF can carry an alpha channel and BMP cannot. Transparent areas are composited onto a solid background during conversion, so pick that background colour deliberately: white is the default, and it is rarely the right choice for a logo that will sit on a dark page. AVIF carries 12 bits per channel and BMP carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end.
