How OBJ and GLB differ in practice

OBJ holds bare numbers with no unit, and GLB has to state one, so the conversion has to assume it. If the OBJ was exported in inches or metres, the result is off by that same factor. Measure one known dimension after conversion. An OBJ model is often a set of files rather than one: the geometry in the .obj, its materials in a .mtl file next to it, and textures as separate images. The .obj on its own describes shape only, so copy the whole set together whenever colour and texture matter.
