How to Convert Multiple HEIC Images to WEBP?
1. Download and Install reaConverter Lite
reaConverter Lite is quick to download, easy to install, and ready to launch in seconds. This lightweight, standalone software is highly efficient at handling a wide range of batch image conversions. Plus, it lets you apply essential image editing options — such as resizing, rotating, or adjusting quality — during the conversion process.
2. Load your HEIC files
Add HEIC files to reaConverter. One file or a thousand, the process is the same. Everything runs locally on your machine.
You can drag-and-drop files, browse to a folder, or add entire directory trees including subfolders.

3. Select WEBP as output format
Select WEBP from the output format list and set your destination folder. You can also adjust quality and compression settings.

4. Start HEIC to WEBP conversion
Click the Convert button to start. reaConverter will process all your files with the settings you selected.

When finished, your new .webp files will be waiting in the destination folder.
HEIC to WEBP: what carries over and what does not
HEIC carries 10 bits per channel and WEBP carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end. HEIC and WEBP both compress by discarding data, so this is a re-encode rather than a copy. The output is built from already-compressed pixels, and the artefacts of the first encode are carried into the second. Use a high quality setting, and convert from the original whenever you still have it.
