DC3 to PCX: what carries over and what does not
DC3 stores 16-bit greyscale covering the full dynamic range of the scan, and PCX shows 8 bits. The conversion applies a window level, so what ends up visible depends on the window you choose. Decide separately whether patient metadata should be copied to the output or stripped from it. One DC3 file can hold several pages or frames, while PCX holds one image each. reaConverter writes a separate output file per page and numbers them, so a single input can produce a whole folder of results.
