How DICOM and JXR differ in practice
DICOM stores pixels without compression loss and JXR does not, so this is a one-way step. Choose a high quality setting, and avoid converting the same file back and forth, because each pass compounds the artefacts. One DICOM file can hold several pages or frames, while JXR holds one image each. reaConverter writes a separate output file per page and numbers them, so a single input can produce a whole folder of results.
