1. Download and Install reaConverter
Download reaConverter and install it in seconds. The setup is straightforward — no complex configuration, no extra software required. Need edits? Resize, rotate, or add watermarks during conversion.
2. Load your ECW files
Launch reaConverter and load the ECW files you want to convert. Add a few files or thousands, batch processing handles them all.
Drag-and-drop ECWs directly into reaConverter or use the folder browser to load entire directories.

3. Select ICO as output format
Set ICO as output format and select where to save your converted files. Customize quality settings if needed.

4. Start ECW to ICO conversion
Press Convert to begin processing. You can watch the progress or minimize and let it run in the background.

Your converted ICO files will appear in the destination folder as soon as processing completes.
ECW to ICO: what to expect from the conversion
ECW describes geometry rather than pixels, so it has no inherent resolution. The conversion renders it at whatever size you choose, and that choice is final: enlarging the ICO afterwards will not recover the sharpness. Set the output dimensions or DPI before converting, not after. ECW carries 16 bits per channel and ICO carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end.
