How to Convert Multiple JP2 Images to JPEG?

How JP2 and JPEG differ in practice
JP2 can carry an alpha channel and JPEG cannot. Transparent areas are composited onto a solid background during conversion, so pick that background colour deliberately: white is the default, and it is rarely the right choice for a logo that will sit on a dark page. JP2 carries 16 bits per channel and JPEG carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end.
