How to Convert Multiple JXL Images to JXR?
1. Download and Install reaConverter
Download reaConverter and install it in seconds. The setup is straightforward — no complex configuration, no extra software required. Built-in editing tools let you resize, crop, or watermark as you convert.
2. Load your JXL files
Add JXL files to reaConverter. One file or a thousand, the process is the same. Everything runs locally on your machine.
You can drag-and-drop files, browse to a folder, or add entire directory trees including subfolders.

3. Select JXR as output format
Select JXR from the output format list and set your destination folder. You can also adjust quality and compression settings.

4. Start JXL to JXR conversion
Click the Convert button to start. reaConverter will process all your files with the settings you selected.

When finished, your new .jxr files will be waiting in the destination folder.
JXL to JXR: what carries over and what does not
JXL and JXR both compress by discarding data, so this is a re-encode rather than a copy. The output is built from already-compressed pixels, and the artefacts of the first encode are carried into the second. Use a high quality setting, and convert from the original whenever you still have it. One JXL file can hold several pages or frames, while JXR holds one image each. reaConverter writes a separate output file per page and numbers them, so a single input can produce a whole folder of results.
