How to Convert Multiple PEF Images to AVIF?
1. Download and Install reaConverter

2. Load your PEF files
Start reaConverter and add your .pef files. The software processes everything locally, so your files never leave your computer.
Select PEFs from a folder or drag-and-drop them directly into the reaConverter window.
3. Select AVIF as output format
Choose AVIF as the target format. Pick a destination folder or let reaConverter save files alongside the originals.
4. Start PEF to AVIF conversion

PEF to AVIF: what to expect from the conversion
PEF files hold unprocessed sensor data, so white balance and exposure are still adjustable. Converting to AVIF bakes those decisions into the pixels, and highlight recovery is no longer available afterwards. Set white balance and exposure before the run rather than after. PEF carries 14 bits per channel and AVIF carries 12, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to a 12-bit format only at the very end.
