PSD carries 16 bits per channel and DDS carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. Colours are converted between the two spaces during the run, and saturated print colours can shift visibly. If the output is heading back to print, keep an untouched copy of the original.
