How to Convert Multiple FITS Images to ICO?
1. Download and Install reaConverter

2. Load your FITS files
Start reaConverter and add your .fits files. The software processes everything locally, so your files never leave your computer.

FITS to ICO: what carries over and what does not
FITS stores 32-bit greyscale covering the full dynamic range of the scan, and ICO shows 8 bits. The conversion applies a window level, so what ends up visible depends on the window you choose. Decide separately whether patient metadata should be copied to the output or stripped from it. FITS carries 32 bits per channel and ICO carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end.
