How to Convert Multiple JP2 Images to DDS?
1. Download and Install reaConverter

2. Load your JP2 files
Open reaConverter and add your JP2 files. You can load individual files, entire folders, or even nested subfolders.
Drop your JP2 files into the window or use File menu to browse and select folders.
3. Select DDS as output format
Choose DDS as the target format. Pick a destination folder or let reaConverter save files alongside the originals.
4. Start JP2 to DDS conversion

JP2 to DDS: what carries over and what does not
JP2 carries 16 bits per channel and DDS carries 8, so tonal steps get coarser during conversion. It shows up first in smooth gradients such as skies. If the result will be edited further, move to an 8-bit format only at the very end. JP2 and DDS both compress by discarding data, so this is a re-encode rather than a copy. The output is built from already-compressed pixels, and the artefacts of the first encode are carried into the second. Use a high quality setting, and convert from the original whenever you still have it.
