What changes when you convert KMZ to JXL

KMZ coordinates are positions on the earth, tied to a stated reference system, and each feature carries its own row of attributes. JXL is a picture: the coordinates become pixel positions and the attribute table is dropped entirely. That is fine for illustration and no use as data, so keep the KMZ original if anything downstream needs to query or reproject the features. KMZ describes geometry rather than pixels, so it has no inherent resolution. The conversion renders it at whatever size you choose, and that choice is final: enlarging the JXL afterwards will not recover the sharpness. Set the output dimensions or DPI before converting, not after.
