How to Convert Multiple SR2 Images to FITS?
1. Download and Install reaConverter
reaConverter installs quickly on any Windows PC. No dependencies, no bloatware — just a clean setup that's ready to use immediately. You can also resize, crop, and adjust images during conversion.
2. Load your SR2 files
Open reaConverter and add your SR2 files. You can load individual files, entire folders, or even nested subfolders.
Select SR2s from a folder or drag-and-drop them directly into the reaConverter window.

3. Select FITS as output format
Pick FITS as output format and choose the destination folder where you want to save new .fits files.

4. Start SR2 to FITS conversion
Press the Convert button and reaConverter takes care of the rest. Processing time depends on file size and volume.

After processing, find all your new .fits files in the output location. The log shows details for each conversion.
SR2 to FITS: what carries over and what does not
SR2 files hold unprocessed sensor data, so white balance and exposure are still adjustable. Converting to FITS bakes those decisions into the pixels, and highlight recovery is no longer available afterwards. Set white balance and exposure before the run rather than after.
