What changes when you convert VTF to JPG
VTF can carry an alpha channel and JPG cannot. Transparent areas are composited onto a solid background during conversion, so pick that background colour deliberately: white is the default, and it is rarely the right choice for a logo that will sit on a dark page. VTF and JPG both compress by discarding data, so this is a re-encode rather than a copy. The output is built from already-compressed pixels, and the artefacts of the first encode are carried into the second. Use a high quality setting, and convert from the original whenever you still have it.
